As we are all waiting for the dawn of a new era for our beloved Malaysia, let us take some time to listen to conscientious voices from former times…

The ancient social reformer Isaiah Ben Amoz said these words to a corrupted nation, and I think he speaks to us today as well, both as a warning…

Damn those law-makers who make unjust laws!
   and the journalists who report lies!
Those who deny justice to the people,
   rob the poor of their right,
and oppress the minority and the needy!
What are you gonna do when your corrupted practices are exposed?
Who will you ask for help,
   and where will you hide your illegal riches?
There are only two options:
to be arrested, charged and imprisoned,
   or die.
 God is not stupid, and he is not sleeping,
He is very angry and will do something soon! (Isa 10:1-4)

and as a hope…
 
 But the true King will come,
And god’s Strength will be with him,
   so that he will be very smart and powerful,
but most importantly, he is a godly king.
H willl rule justly - He will not judge by mere appearances.
But he will give justice to the poor,
   and stand on the side of the weak and marginalized;
He will rule the earth with great power and authority,
   and with ease, abolish all evil regime.
This is one helluva straight guy, incorruptible and just.  (Isa 11:1-5)
 
 Then there will be harmony and peace
and reconciliation and restoration.
    all over the earth,
 Because everyone will know god and do what is right. (Isa 116-9)
