Another Young Penang Dato’

After Dato’ Nicol David who was conferred the State title during the Yang Di Pertua Pulau Pinang’s birthday this year, another young athelete, Penangite and Malaysian Olympic hero, Lee Chong Wei will be awarded with the Darjah Setia Pangkuan Negeri which carries the title “Dato’”. Lee hailed from Perkampungan Berapit in Bukit Mertajam which is in my boss’ constituency.

The thing is news has gone out that BN will rally Lee around in Permatang Pauh for their election campaign after he touched down in Penang this evening. I hope BN will wake up to their senses. National and state atheletes are the pride of the whole nation, every Rakyat Malaysia and not the property of individual political parties. Besides, please keep politics out of sports lah…
