Titbits on P44 BE
Some tit-bits on P44 by-election
1. I was working on Nomination Day – had to launch two events on the island – so I missed the fun at the Nomination centre. My comrades were all there and they reported about 70% of the tens of thousands (some said 30k, some said 100k, most news paper said 10k) were from the Pakatan Rakyat. A source told me that some bus loads of secondary school students were deployed to the Nomination centre as BN’s crowd. Can get RM20 for that…Yeah, I missed the fun, but so what. Politics should not affect the work and efficiency of the Pakatan State Government.
2. JR who went in Chong Eng’s car told us of police blocking their entrance on the side of BN on the pretext that they were wearing shirt with PR logos. Guna and David M took off their shirt (they were all in the car) and Chong Eng wore a black blazer over her tshirt. JR’s logo was not visible. The police didn’t let them in and they had to walk through some jungle trails to get to the other side. On the other side, PR side, police were seen to have allowed BN supporters’ vehicle to get through to the BN side. Well…no comment, miscommunication – the police on duty on both access roads didn’t communicate properly perhaps.
3. In the evening of the Nomination Day, Chong Eng’s voluntary service team accompanied her to Samagagah for a ceramah. Along the way, especially after Tanah Liat, UMNO’s ceramah venue has got at most a 1000 folks sitting on plastic chairs listening to their speakers (and they looked bored), elsewhere near the UMNO operation centre, youth on motorbikes were seen convoying and blocking the already small road.
4. I can’t verify this piece of info, but my source told me these bikers received as much as RM50 a day for the god-knows-what they were deployed to do during campaigning.
5. When I arrived at Anwar’s gathering at Samagagah, the whole big padang (field) was brimming with people…People were everywhere, I estimated easily 10k folks that night cheering and clapping as Anwar spoke. If this is any indication of the poll…
6. Another source told me the other party has already deployed their puteri’s door to door to give out goodies ($$$) to the mak ciks and pak ciks (aunties and uncles) in the kampung asking them to vote for them OR just stay at home and don’t vote. Kerja sial…
7. The little bird also told me RM3mil has already been spent up to this morning – this is just the second day for goodness sake. And what’s the legal limit of the monetary spending for each candidate again…200k? It’s many times exceeded lah….
8. Chong Eng will be leading us to support the campaign at DUN Penanti …our DAP team under Chong Eng is multiracial, cina ada, india ada, melayu pun ada….together we support fully Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s campaign to take his rightful place in the Parliament!
9. This morning, a group of us escorted my boss to Berapit coz we heard the Youth and Sports Minister was coming and we wanted to greet him…mana tau, sampai sana, they said he already fled…to Beijing to watch Lee Chong Wei.
10. Hurrah to Lee Chong Wei, our Olympic record breaker. But bad Minister, flee when he knew we were coming..hahahhaha…joking Dato’.
11. Oh ya, btw, on Nomination Day, the slogan yells were quite interesting, one side was shouting “sodomy! liwat!” and the other side “reformasi! merdeka!”. Parti apa yang guna slogan “liwat!”? (What kind of party would adopt the slogan “sodomy!”?
