Reminiscence of Terengganu
SUKMA 12 has ended…
Penang got 8th placing. 27 golds. Not unexpected but I didn’t think we will do more than 6th. Some blame it on the participation of national athletes this time around. But for me, it’s time for active reflection about our sports management. Post mortem before the end of this month…
But before that a little State dinner for our hardworking athletes and the contigent.
And reminiscence of Terengganu…
Pengarah Majlis Sukan Negeri (MSN) Pulau Pinang in pensive mood. The hats were sponsored by one of the members of MSN management board
The heroes and heroins getting ready for march pass for SUKMA opening. I think our contingent jacket is rather smart.
The arch into Kuala Terengganu’s Chinatown - Kg. Cina
This is the batik shop where my boss bought me a batik and bought JR a piece of batik cloth…we are still thinking about what to do with the soft pink silk.
First day medal tally for Penang. My number - 513
Some of our team managers and officials were stuck in a lift for almost 30 minutes. Wisma Darul Iman, past midnight…the Bomba came about 15 minutes after we called and rescued our folks.
Dato Sonny Soon, Deputy Chef de Mission (the chap in blue was me! and btw Dato’ we were all supposed to wear blue lah). All my years in BM High, I was in Soon Eng Kong house (colour: green). Soon Eng Kong was Sonny Soon’s grand-daddy.
Balik Penang with my travel companion Prof. Mohd. Yunus. Fireflyz have been suprisingly good.
