Opening of Hainan Loh Kopitiam
I first ate at Pak Hainan Kopitiam (Hainan Loh) in Alor Setar. It was really good, the black Hainanese coffee and their curry chicken rice. I mean their chicken rice is way above the other Shop named after the dish. And their kopi O (local black coffee) is, in my opinion, better than the Ipoh ones. (This is not an advertorial, i can assure you).
When a few weeks ago, JR and I while driving along Padang Lallang saw the signboard we were excited that they finally opened a shop here near our place. But alas, when we went, they were still under renovation.
The wonderful news was, yesterday evening YB Chong Eng asked me to represent her to officiate the opening of the Padang Lallang Pak Hainan Kopitiam this morning. Hahahaha…what a twist of fate. I mean, JR and I had wanted to try their dishes just few weeks before and we were quite dissappointed that they were not opened yet, but this morning, I would be “opening” the restaurant. Well, c’est la vie…

Mrs. Loh and Mr. Loh the branch’s bosses, YB Michael Tan, rep of CM and Padang Lallang SA, mee, Mr. Yee, the big boss from Kedah.
The Loh’s presented a cheque of RM5000.00 in aid of disaster victims in China.
